NEW LAUNCH // Bareminerals barePRO Performance Wear Foundation : Full Review.

Lets’ get straight to the point ; the Bareminerals BAREPRO Performance Wear Foundation is THE best foundation I have ever used from Bareminerals and I am pretty sure the best foundation powder I have ever tried. I have not been instantly wow-ed by a foundation for quite some time which is why I wanted to share this new launch with you, some before & after’s and the general lowdown on why I am loving it so much.

Foundation powders have been a love-hate thing for me in the past. It’s not something I ever really wear on it’s own/as my main foundation, but more as a finish/sweep over the top of my liquid foundation to perfect it. I will often keep a powder foundation in my bag for touch-ups, but that’s about it. I have oily skin, so in theory I should be more attracted to a powder foundation to keep the shine @ bay, but I simply love the dewy, gorgeous finish that you can get from a liquid as opposed to a typical foundation powder. Thoughts of cakey skin, dry-looking skin and a powdery face creep into my mind, but I should know and do know that powder formulas have come on in leaps and bounds, and the barePRO shows me exactly that.

What the peeps @ Bareminerals say about barePRO ;

‘A high performance, 12-hour long-lasting coverage, that lets your skin breath’. Tick. Tick. Tick.

First up : The Coverage.

It is really buildable as in you can get a tinted-moistursier-esque finish up to a full, flawless coverage, and I mean flawless. This gave my skin such a smooth, filtered finish that I almost looked airbrushed on the one side in the comparison shot. I promise you there is no airbrush or photoshop in any of the photos…. it just smooths away pores, fine lines and hides any uneven skintone, redness and blemishes. I would also like to add I have no concealer or anything else on in the photos except the one at the bottom of the page. Once I had buffed the powder all over my skin to a nice finish, I then went in harder over areas that needed concealing/ blemishes etc. I also used this here under my eyes.

Longevity & Wear.

It promises a 12-hour wear and I have worn this probably for over a week or so and I can confirm that the wear is really good. Do you need to powder/top up throughout the day? Well that depends on your skintype, I am oily-combo and I just needed one blot throughout the day. In terms of coverage, it stayed all day and I didn’t feel the need to have to top up with any more foundation.

Skin Treatment.

Ok so we know that skincare is what you should look to for treating and helping your skin longterm but it doesn’t hurt to have some decent ingredients in your makeup too. This contains 90% minerals and vitamins so definitely one to consider if you are sensitive, have problematic skin or simply don’t like any clog or residue on your skin ; the formula feels totally weightless on me, even when I build it up to a heavy/full coverage.

The barePro foundation is clinically proven to improve skin clarity, reduce the appearance of pores and control shine. Hooray for us oily-skinned girls.

Another key selling pointsfor me is the fact that it comes in a sleek compact (with sponge for touch-ups) which makes it easily slip into your handbag, and to be honest, you could probably ditch the concealer/ powder etc from your bag also = SPACE SAVER!

They do do a specific barePRO makeup brush to apply this foundation, which I haven’t actually tried. I applied it with this brush which I was really happy with. I would just suggest anything that is quite dense to ensure you can build up the coverage in areas needed. Apply with a circular buffing motion to get a nice, even finish.

The barePro Foundation comes in 20 true-to-you shades so there is something for everyone and I love the fact there are different tones with both warm, cool and neutral so you can really find a perfect match. I am wearing Natural 11 in the photos which is my usual tone, but after holiday I am a little warmer as you can see in the ‘before’ photos so slightly pale right now but great for when I lose my tan….which will be begrudgingly imminently.

The BarePro foundation costs £27 and is available online and in all retailers stocking Bareminerals.
