Ok so *that* person you know who has already got all the latest beauty or perhaps likes a more streamlined beauty cabinet. Those who’s daily makeup routine is just a slap of Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser on their face, a groom of the brows and a tinted balm on the lips.
Lifestyle gifts are my favourite I think : scents, trinkets and beautiful things for around the home. I think they are the easiest to buy as are quite non-invasive and are perfect also for those you don’t know as well….but need to buy for.
Candles : absolutely easy to choose and welcomed by most. Luxury candles, I think are such a giftable item and I know no sane person who doesn’t love a fancy candle in their home. Heyland & Whittle are an amazing British Lifestyle brand who do everything from super smelling hand washes and lotions, candles, home scents and everything in between. The Sandalwood Oud candle (£30) is THE ONE of the season and perfect for wintery months with it’s warming, smokey deep scent. The glass jars are really pretty and perfect to recycle and use and the candles are made from a clean Soy wax for an environmentally friendly burn. Winning all around. Whilst you are buying me that, also look at their Reed Diffusers which are a perfect way to scent your rooms without worrying about burning candles, or simply if you want something that will diffuse fragrance 24-7.
Hand lotions and creams : another safe bet for gifting. Step away from the usuals and try something a little different such as the Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender & Expresso range…combining the calming scent of Lavender with the antioxidant-rich coffee bean for an unusual, but beautiful scent. I love their Lavender & Expresso Calming Hand Therapy (£23) which gives just the right amount of hydration without the oily residue. Another lovely gifting range for their scents and aesthetic is MOR, and their ‘Little Luxuries‘ range are the smaller, travel-sizes which are perfect for combining and gifting. So many scents to choose from and I think you’ll agree, their packaging is just the best.
Some are a bit funny about gifting bath & shower products but I think a luxury body wash or bath oil is a great thing to give as a pamper treat product. Molton Brown are the KWEENS of Christmas presents and all things ‘smelly’ – and always a safe bet if you are a confused shopper! They do limited edition Christmas collections every year which are always great but my favourite scent and product at the moment is the Jasmine & Sun Rose Bath Oil (£40). This is one of their newest scents for Molton Brown and it’s a lovely combination of Jasmine, Rose & Patchouli. This bath oil makes your room smell incredible and you only need a tiny drop of it to scent your bath and soothe your skin. Now if you know a person well enough, then a body wash is still an ok gift to give, especially if it’s a fancy and luxurious one such as the L’Occitane Verbena shower Gel (£16). A great fresh unisex scent and it’s just one of the best body washes.
Fragrance can be a slightly harder thing to buy I find, so either stick with the fresher scents that are easy-to-wear and not overly powerful or strong. Boutique perfumers Shay & Blue London do some absolutely beautiful scents and I find it easy to choose as they are broken down into groups of scents depending on your preference for example fruits, citrus, woods or floral. The packaging is beautiful and they come boxed and ready to gift. Fragrance prices start from £30.
If you want to step away from scents and body products then I always find anything with a Liberty print works! A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G. They do so much with their prints from clothing, accessories and a shed load of affordable (ish) stationary! I have and love the Wiltshire Print Cotton A5 Notebook (£20) which was actually a gift to me – and it’s perfect for on-the-go notes / ideas / to do’s / shopping lists and blog ideas!
