Elemis cleansers are iconic and I love the cleansing balms so much. I had never tried any other of their cleansers up until this one : the Elemis Clarifying Clay Wash. This is a purifying clay-based facial wash that deeply cleanses the pores to lift away excess oil and makeup from the skin whilst reducing the look of blemishes and blackheads.
It’s perfect for those of us with a slightly more oily and breakout skin, looking for a really lovely and fresh deep-cleanse. This has been formulated to Deeply cleanse pores and reduce the look of blemishes by soothing and calming at the same time as cleansing. Kaolin clay is a well-known ingredient In cleansing masks and this takes centre stage in this cleanser to help lift away impurities and break up the oil on the skin.
I love this particularly in the summer, when our skin produces a but more oil. I know after a day of being in the sun, sweating, SPF etc, oily skins can feel really grimey by the end of the day and this is when I reach for something like this. I find it works well as a second-cleanse after the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm OR it’s lovely first thing in the AM as a quick re-fresh and cleanse in the shower.
This balancing cleanser promises to help visibly improve the look of skin texture whilst minimising the look of blackheads and post-blemish discolouration. Gentle enough for daily use, it leaves skin looking clearer, less oily and more balanced.
It has a clay-like feel and look to it : almost like a creamy, light clay mask. However once you massage it onto the face and add warm water it does very lightly foam up which I really like. I sometimes also leave it on for a couple of minutes like a mini-mask when I’m showering in the AM and this seems to leave my skin looking and feeling really lovely and clean. I use this maybe 3 times a week when my skin needs a deep cleanse than normal.
The Elemis Clarifying Clay Wash is Powered by potent extracts like kaolin clay, hawthorn and boldo leaf. This magical creamy clay elixir will work to brighten post-blemish discolouration, and is ideal for oily or blemish-prone skin in need of a soothing, balancing and toning intervention.
