Birchbox are certainly getting the packaging right at the moment after that beautiful floral Boden collaboration last month ; this month’s beauty box offering see’s the ultimate blogger love being ticked off that list ; the white marble & gold cliche!
The box of may is all about ”the devil in the detail” ; the smaller things that matter and that can be tweaked to improve your daily life whether it means de-cluttering your house, changing up your skincare routine or ticking off that to-do-list.
What’s Inside?
(1) MARSK Mineral Eyeshadow ”Fifty Shades”. This is a full-size loose pigment eyeshadow in a deep gunmetal grey shade – great for a smokey eye. I have never heard of this brand before – the quality seems good although I have many similar shades! (2) Doucce Punk Volumiser mascara : Another makeup brand I haven’t heard of, this is a handy travel-size mascara (black) that has a jumbo fibre wand that promises to give volume and thickness. I’ve tried it and it’s a decent mascara. (3) Dr Brandt Microdermabrasion : my favourite item of the month! I already have and love this product and this will be handy for my travels. One of the best exfoliators there is! (4) Kueshi Hair mask for shine & Volume. I think I have only ever heard of this brand from previous Birchbox’s : I am always up for trying hair masks as I use them pretty much every time I wash my hair so will be 100% giving this a go. (5) Whish forming body cream : again, another brand I have only used through Birchbox and am pretty sure it may have been a body cream but a different scent ; I remember it being really nice so will put this in my travel pile along with the rest until I need it!
Thoughts > Possibly my least favourite of the year thus far in all honesty. That being said, it’s not terrible, but I am not excited but many of this month’s products. I do like the Dr Brandt but I have used this for years so its’ nothing new for me and I’m looking forward to trying the hair mask. I maybe wish there was another more recognisable brand or a product that I’ve heard about if that makes sense?!
In general I do love my Birchbox’s and most month’s I really like them, it’s just personal taste. I know other people who are loving this box.
You can check out Birchbox on the website : it costs just £12.95 a month inclusive of P&P and they are often worth £25/£30+.
