The beauty haul in Debenham’s is fast-becoming one of my favourite stop-offs when I am on Oxford Street. I’m not afraid of saying I will avoid central London at weekends at all costs as I just cannot stand crowds and Q’s but a speedy mid-week trip is always a win for me and when I have events etc I will always combine it with a bit of shopping and perusing the endless beauty counters.
I like the mix of niche brands and the big boys which they have now @ Debenhams ; they refurbed a couple of years ago and it is 100x better than it used to be. There is your usual Dior, YSL, Chanel, Clarins etc then really great makeup brands like Make Up For Ever, Bare Minerals, Urban Decay, Too Faced…and then the cool little skincare brands such as Balance Me, Emma Hardie, Ole Henriksen, etc etc…there is LOADS. I went in last week as I had a voucher to spend so ended up getting a few bits for myself as a perk-me-up-treat.
Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash.
A replacement cleanser. I have used this for quite some time and is a great lightweight, balancing AM cleanser to use in the morning. Freshens the skin, smells aromatic and doesn’t leave the skin tight or dry. Sulphate free.
Chanel Illusion D’Ombre ‘Mirage’.
A really beautiful shimmery-bronzey-brown eyeshadow. One of my favourite cream shadows and has a lovely mousse-like spongey texture that is so easy to apply and blend on the lids just with the finger. This has quite a high shimmer finish so it is perfect for evenings out when you want to impress. I also love the shades ‘Epatant’ and ‘Illusoire’.
Chanel Soleil De Tan.
This is such a great product and I forgot how much I loved it. A matte cream bronzer that has a wonderful smooth texture and is easy to work with. Has a semi-matte finish and I love to use this on photoshoots so this is more for my kit (unfortunately, sob). This is a really great product for boys when you want to give them some natural colour with no shimmer or powder that can look ‘makeup-ey’.
YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation.
This is one of my favourite foundations ever and have used it pretty much since they launched it. I love the lightweight texture and the lovely dewy finish it gives on my skin. It is a medium-buildable cover and you can sheer it down to a tinted moisturiser formula if you dab a bit of primer in with it and mix it up. Such a lovely and luxury foundation.
BareMinerals Lash Domination mascara.
Have had maybe 3 tubes of this already and this is just a replacement. Literally one of my top 5 mascaras of all time, I just love what this does to my lashes and the brush is really good. It claims to be a 10-in-1 mascara which I would normally dismiss in a second….but it pretty much is. Lasts ages too and the formula stays fresh and wet for months on end.
REN Flash Rinse 1-minute facial.
I had a small sample size of this (maybe from a Birchbox?) and I really enjoyed using it and have nothing like it in my arsenal of scrubs and masks so thought I would get a full-size one. It’s a mixture between a scrub, cleanser and mask and gives the skin a really quick boost of radiance. A perfect pre-party mask.
Have you been to the Debenhams Beauty Hall on Oxford Street yet? If you are visiting the big smoke for some Christmas shopping then it needs to be on your list of places to go. Just avoid Saturdays for your own sanity.
