If you are into your skincare then you definitely would have seen this doing the rounds the last month or so. The Algenist Blue Algae Vitamin C Dark Spot Correcting Peel has launched with a bang and I want to share with you how I’ve been getting on.
I have used Algenist on and off since it launched into Space NK. I used to absolutely LOVE their Triple-Action Microdermabrasion which was a gel-like AHA exfoliator WITH small beads that did an incredible job at brightening and exfoliating the skin and I was super sad when they discontinued it! I think their Genius Cleanser is incredible and *that* Collagen serum is pretty banging too.
Algenist (AL•GEN•NIST) is a brand that is known for their key ingredient Alguronic acid from algae which is naturally sourced and they use biotechnology to sustainably product this special ingredient. Alguronic acid, in a nutshell, is a powerhouse ingredient for anti-ageing in skincare.
Sustainably produced. Ingredient efficacy. Biotechnology. Vegan
Algenist focus on innovative ingredient discoveries that produce visible and proven results. Their latest ingredient discovery is the Vitamin C from Spirulina which is a blue-green algae and found in the incredible peel I’m talking all about today. This pure vitamin C is vegan and renewable as it’s harvested from the Spirulina fields off the coast of California, where it is produced in a close-loop system.
This Blue Algae Vitamin C Peel is honestly incredible! I’ve only used it a few times but after the first use I knew it was a winner. It made my skin the most baby-soft and smoothest and I couldn’t stop feeling my face after using it. I have had this much of a noticeable difference in my skin after using an exfoliator/peel for a long time!
It contains Blue Algae Vitamin C, their patented Alguronic acid, Vitamins, Minerals, antioxidant Phycocyacin and a triple-acid complex of AHA’s, BHA and PHA. These ingredients combined make for a super-potent brightening treatment that will exfoliate, even the skin tone, brighten and smooth the skin.
The packaging is sleek, eye-catching and functional. Pump applicator which dispenses a good dose of the blue gel with one pump. I need about 3 for a full face mask and apply it straight onto a clean, damp skin and leave it on for up to 20 minutes. The first time I used it I only had time to leave it on for 5 and honestly my skin was baby-soft even after this amount of time.
The one thing I don’t like about it? The name. I wish it wasn’t called ‘Dark Spot Correcting Peel’ as if I was a consumer in a shop, I wouldn’t think this was for me. I don’t have dark spots : but this is for everyone and anyone who want an brightening, smoothing, acid peel.
It has been clinically tested and 89% said the skin felt soft and polished after 1 use and after 8 uses 89% said the appearance of dark spots is visibly diminished.
