Last week I was invited along to the Sleek Makeup launch of their latest collection Whimsical Wonderland. It was a lively and themed affair ; fairground style, pink candyfloss, popcorn, neon lights and everything candy-esque and gorgeous…which pretty much reflects what’s in the new products. The new collection has 1 x I-Divine eyeshadow palette, 3 x Lip VIPS lipsticks & 3 Gel blusher balms and has pretty pastels, candy colours and pops of bright neon.
I actually NEVER tried anything from Sleek makeup (!!) so I’m really intrigued to properly try the products as I always hear pretty good reviews about the brand. Here is the d-low on the new products/shades…
All the Fun of The Funfair I-Divine Palette £7.99 ;12 shades of mineral-based pressed eyeshadows. I’m yet to properly play with these colours as they aren’t really *me* or what I would usually wear but there are a few nice-looking peachy shades that I like , I’m just a little more ‘vanilla’ now with my eye shades as I just stick to what I know & love. However this is a good selection of brights and pastels for makeup addicts and for the price it’s really good. I have heard that Sleek have a decent payoff and pigment in their eyeshadows so am looking forward to trying out some looks with this.
Sweet Cheeks Blusher £5.99 These remind me of the NARS limited edition multiples they did like 5 years back….they look slightly scary initially but they are a very sheer pigmented colour so the payoff is semi-translucent leaving just a hint of colour. They also seem to stain the skin when applied so they will stay on really well particulary for the impending hot weather us Brits are obviously (not) going to have.
Shades are Hullabaloo : Raspberry Red, Lickety Split : Orange Coral & Tom Foolery : Muted Violet.
Lip VIP Lipstick £5.50 An exhisting line of semi-matte lipsticks, and these are the 3 new shades. I believe these are going to stay out rather than limited edition like the rest of the products. I REALLY like these lipsticks as they delivery a buttery, rich colour payoff and I think all these 3 shades are absolutely stunning. Big Shot : Lilac, Fancy Pants : Orange & Hot Tottie : Bright Pink.
