Coming back from my lil’ Christmas blog and work break with the January Roccabox 2021 offering! If you are new to all this beauty box subscription malarkey : then it’s basically a surprise box of beauty sent out to you every month, with great savings and brands included. Roccabox, for me, is one of the most affordable and best beauty box subscription services and I’ve been really pleased with my boxes so far.
This year’s first box is (no surprise) all about getting you ready for a fresh start and to help you feel like the best version of yourself.
January 2021 Roccabox Contents:
Doctors Formula Probiotic Overnight Repairing Serum (full size 30ml / value £89)
This tis this month’s ‘hero product’ which tend to have the most value and wow it’s a pricey one! This isn’t a brand I’ve actually used or heard of before. It’s a PM replenishing and repairing treatment serum that is targeted towards all skin types. I would expect for £89 the packaging to be a in a glass bottle or something, this serum is just in a tube which doesn’t seem that luxe! I do like probiotics in skincare though so am intrigued about this.
Shea Bliss Cherry Bomb Body Butter (40g / value £2.99)
This is a really sumptuous and thick body butter that is perfect for smoothing an hydrating winter weathered and worn dry skin. I don’t know about you my the skin on my body is VERY much neglected and scaly at the moment and I really need to get back into that habit of slathering on a nice thick body cream after the bath. This one smells absolutely divine and I could quite literally eat it! It feels quite thick when you first apply it, but once massaged and warmed it melts almost to an oil. It’s definitely an gourmand smell which I’m not usually mad on but for some reason, the cherry scent is actually really lovely on the body.
Mudymasky Hair Mask, Scalp Treatment and Miracle Shampoo (75ml / value £21.78)
Dry scalps and flakiness be gone! If you are feeling the itch from the cold weather, central heating or you are just a little dry and damaged at the moment then this 3-in-1 hair treatment could be right up your street. It’s essentially a shampoo treatment that you use as a normal shampoo, lather up and simply leave on for a few minutes whilst the goodness works. I actually have one shampoo I’ve tried like this and I REALLY loved it so I’m excited to give this a go. I don’t suffer from an itchy or dry scalp really but I still think this will be a great treat for my hair.
Skimono Total conditioning + Foot Mask (1 use / Value £10)
This is brand that I think I’ve only discovered in beauty boxes and I have liked a few of their products. This is a serum foot mask that will smooth, soften and nourish tired and overworked trotters! They are pre-saturated ‘socks’ that you slip your feet into and leave for 30 minutes or so ; perfect for an evening in front of the TV. I’m definitely going to be trying these out this week!
Oh K! SOS Soothing Face Lotion (full size 100ml / value £8)
This is a Korean soothing, lightweight face lotion that is targeted towards inflamed, blemish-prone skin. I have tried this a few times and it’s actually really lovely if you want some super simple hydration that feels totally weightless on the skin. I haven’t got particularly blemished skin at he moment but due to the fact it’s a lotion, it absorbs in so quickly, it’s actually going into my makeup box for my primer – I really like it!
For me, the STAR product of this box is either the Oh K! Lotion OR I really love the sound of this foot mask but I haven’t used it yet so will report back.
This month’s Roccabox has a whopping value of over £130 which is one of the biggest in a long time! One thing you will definitely get with these boxes is great value for money and huge savings. I don’t think I’ve had one which has a value less than £30.
I think it really depends on you as a person whether or not a beauty box subscription is for you : if you are VERY picky with products and ‘know’ what you like and what you don’t or maybe have quite specific requirements from your beauty…..maybe it’s not for you. However, I think most beauty junkies and skincare lovers will get on pretty well with these : it’s a great way to discover new beauty, brands and products that you may not have and wouldn’t have tried. I find that most boxes will contain more products that I like than I don’t AND I’ve actually ended up buying quite a few full sizes of products I’ve loved after finding them in these boxes.
