Urban Decay : Naked Flushed palette.

This is a new-ish (I think) addition to the Urban Decay family. It is a trio of bronze, blush and highlight in-one, and it caught my eye whilst shopping a few weeks ago because the shades look beautiful and I love the fact that you don’t have to carry too much/fiddle about too much to apply three beauty essentials from one convenient compact.

The ultra-soft powders contain light-diffusing particles to give glow and they all blend really easily on my skin. I think this is failsafe for even the most novice of makeup appliers!I tend to use the bronzer first to add shape and a bit of contour and then I dip my blusher brush in between the highlight shade and blusher so they get mixed together on my skin to give a really radiant touch of colour. I LOVE IT.

I have the original Naked flushed palette as this is perfect natural tones for day-to-day wear. They also do three others shades of this which is STREAK, NATIVE and STRIP. I also really like the colour wave of ‘Streak’ as this is a beautiful summery coral blush that will look really pretty on tanned skin.

Bronzer : This tone is very subtle, so adds more of soft glow on the skin as opposed to adding more depth and *tan* to my skin. It is a satin / semi-matte finish which I think is perfect; You don’t want shimmer in your bronze, blush AND then highlight as you will end up looking like a frickin’ multi-coloured disco ball.

Blush :  This is a very ‘easy’ tone, a very typical blush colour, if that makes sense. Pinky dusky rose in tone with a touch of sheen and would suit pretty much all skin tones.

Highlight : This has a slightly softer texture than the other two powders so a little goes a long way and it has a great payoff.  The colour is a very pale pink champagne with a frosted finish.

The rest of my look is below if you are wondering about the eye shades or base etc :

Products used for look. BASE: Kevyn Aucoin Celestial skin liquid highlighter mixed with Chanel ProLumiere (now discontinued), Hourglass concealer. BLUSH/BRONZE/HIGHLIGHT : Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette BROWS : Benefit High Brow, KIKO brow ink EYES: NARS Codura duo, KIKO eye marker, KIKO Overblown mascara, Armani brown eyeliner. LIPS: MAC Magenta lipliner, Benefit ‘Kiss You’ lipgloss.

The Naked Flushed Palettes cost £22 which I think is really reasonable as some high end brands will charge this for a blusher alone. Cough NARS. Absolutely worth the money and in all honesty it’s made Urban Decay grab my makeup lusting eyes a hell of a lot more. Up until recently, I don’t know why, but I always thought of Urban Decay as more of a high street brand, and haven’t used a great deal of it’s products (not even the Naked palettes…I know, I know), but it certainly has my full attention now. I popped into the counter in Debenham’s Oxford street just yesterday and had a proper sniff about : Those foundations! Those eyeliners! Those BB creams! Those shimmery eyeshadows! I can’t wait to try more. Let me know if there are any other hero products I need to get involved with. PS yeah I went and bought all 3 naked palettes so not those!…..
