The Alpha H Liquid Gold Midnight Reboot Serum launched about a month ago now and I was SO excited when it landed on my doorstep. I had seen it doing to rounds a bit on social media and it piqued my interest a lot as it kind of sounded like my dream treatment serum and you know I have a lot of love for Alpha-H skincare.
This has a breakthrough formula and industry FIRST combining the regenerative properties of AHA’s with anti-ageing hero ingredient Retinol. This golden power-packed serum is all about regeneration, brightening, resurfacing and GLOW. It is inspired by their cult-hit product that we all know and love, the Liquid Gold, which is an incredible glycolic acid resurfacing tonic.
The Liquid Gold Reboot serum contains 14% glycolic acid, 1% granactive retinoid and Coenzyme Q10 : this duo will work on all your skin’s needs from pigmentation, fine lines, congestion and dark spots. It also contains Australian Tazman Pepper, Ferulic Acid and Tripeptide-5 to accelerate the skin’s turnover to reveal brighter and more youthful skin. Dream in a bottle huh?!
It is a PM treatment only due to the acids and be sure to whack on that SPF in the day when using it. You apply 4-5 drops straight onto cleansed skin and can follow with a moisturiser if you wish.
In clinical trials (hooray!) 83% of users noticed an improvement of the skin’s luminosity and tone. 63% of users reported that their skin felt firmer and more ‘elastic’.
I have used it for nearly a month now and I can see a difference for sure in the texture of my skin. I always waking up feeling and looking a little brighter and smoother. It’s quite a lightweight serum so those with dry skin may feel the need to use something over the top. It has a silky smooth, thick-ish serum texture that glides onto the skin wonderfully and doesn’t leave residue.
The formula is vegan, cruelty-free, made with locally sourced botanicals and not suitable for pregnancy due to the retinol.
Also, due to the acids within, beware when applying to broken skin / blemishes as it will STING! I learnt the hard way my friends. The only moan I have is that the dropper can be a little tricky, as the serum is quite thick, bordering on too thick for a dropper pipette, it can take a few squeezes to get out the right amount! Small niggle, nothing major.
