Introduction to Zitsticka : Killa, Hyperfade, Skin Discipline + Press Refresh.

*This post contains press samples*

Zitsticka has launched in the UK and I really think it’s a brand I need to introduce to you if you haven’t heard of it already. Zitsticka combine great skincare and science to bring some really high quality and performance zit zappers.I was fortunate enough to be on a zoom event last week with one of the founders of Zitsticka and it was so interesting to hear more about their story, the science and the range.

They want to destigmatise the chat around blemishes, spots, acnes….zits….however you refer to it. You may know if you have read my blog for a while, I had terrible acne growing up, so I have been around the block (and back!) when it comes to anti-blemish and breakout products so I was VERY intrigued about Zitsticka.

I was bullied for having bad skin, it was embarrassing and I was ashamed and I really feel like we are starting to come around to blemishes/spots/acne as just something that happens, as opposed to something to be ashamed and embarrassed of. I love seeing all the acne positive instagram posts and accounts and how far it’s all come and Zitsticka very much seem to be part of that positive conversation.

ANYWAY, Let’s talk products: Zitsticka do a range of 4 products at the moment : The Killa, Skin Discipline, Hyperfade and Press Refresh.

Killa Kit.

Contains x 8 Killa patches and x8 Cleana patches. This is a self-dissolving microdart patch to tackle the early stages of spots. These come individually wrapped in their own little packet and they are a very thin and lightweight see-through round plaster that have these teeny ‘microdarts’ (needles but super tiny fear not!) and I think these are absolutely incredible! You prep the skin with the pre-soaked ‘Cleana’ swabs and then wait for this to dry and then apply the KILLA patch. This ensures you get a great combination of zit-zapping ingredients delivered straight to the spot epicentre such as salicylic acid, oligopeptide-76, hyaluronic acid and Niacinamide.

I have used these on 3 spots now and they are honestly pretty incredible. You can feel the microdarts but not in a painful way, just a slight tingle almost. You leave them on for at least 2 hours but I left mine on overnight and I woke up with less sore, less red and healing spots! They were super red and angry before I used the KILLA patches and it’s almost like they fast-forwarded the process by a couple of days. The spots were still there, but just not as visible and seemingly ‘healing’.

Also: I’d have NO problems wearing these out in public. Maybe it’s my age and I DGAF attitude but yeah…they are pretty discreet and I think look better on than a raging red pimple.

Skin Discipline.

These are skin supplements that you take daily to keep on top of breakouts and promise to help keep your skin clear. These are scientifically proven to reduce breakouts within 12 weeks. They are drug-free and contain a blend of vitamins, minerals, probiotics and fatty acids. These in combination will help regulate the sebum, balance bacteria, ease surface irritation and improve overall skin health.

Key ingredients are Zinc, Niacin, Omega-3, Vitamin B6, Probiotic blend, Copper, Chromium, Selenium and Pantothenic acid. These are encapsulated in a cap-in-capsule form to ensure ingredient freshness and efficacy. When you open up the tub it has this large ‘menthol’ capsule (not to be ingested) that gives the supplements a minty sensation. I think that they probably use these too as it has ‘fish oil’ and these can smell and taste sometimes a little strong. The fish oil (omega-3) is sustainably sourced from fish in the Pacific ocean.

I haven’t started these as yet but I’ve popped them up (for the pretty photo obvs) so will be cracking on with them from tomorrow. I am finding myself a little more blemish-ridden than normal and getting a little bot of the dreaded ‘maskne’ so now is a better time than any to give these a whirl.

These supplements are yet to drop in the UK but you CAN join the waitlist RIGHT HERE.

Hyperfade.

These have the same unique microdart technology that the amazing Killa stickers have. The Hyperfade is all about lightening, brightening and getting rid of *that* dark spot/patch that come after you’ve had an angry spot. They can literally hang around for weeks and these contain brightening and regenerating ingredients that restore the skin back to pre-spot health and appearance. These contain key ingredients Kojic Acid (slows melanin production), Niacinamide (reduces redness), Vitamin C (brightening), hyaluronic acid (hydration), Arbutin (reduces melanin production) and TXA (to brighten and gently exfoliate).

These need to be left on for at least two hours, or ideally overnight and you can use these every 3 days until the area has faded and brightened.

Press Refresh Mask.

This is a clever second-skin like mask that uses graphene technology that syncs with your body heat. It’s a jelly-like hydrogel texture and comes in two parts to ensure it fits onto the skin perfectly. The deeply penetrating mask contains Salicylic acid, Glycolic acid, Lactic acid, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic acid,  and Allantoin. In short, it’s a great all-rounder mask for anti-blemish, hydrating, brightening and soothing. A bit of a does-it-all and I don’t have these masks but I am really interested in them for sure. You get 5 mask treatments per pack and you can use them as and when you need that boost.

In summary, Zitsticka are currently a very targeted and refined range of products, all targeted towards clearing your skin and zapping the zits. It’s a high-end, high-performance, science-backed and clinically tested brand and I honestly think it’s a great range. It’s definitely a higher price point than a lot of the spot treatments that are out there but it’s next league in terms of what they do and how they work.

I’ve actually never seen anything like this and I’m really into it. It’s grown-up spot treatments and it’s something that looks chic, exciting and something that I want to pick up and use and have on my bedside table.

Next generation spot treatments and I’m really excited to see what else Zitsticka come out with.
