Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas with Look Fantastic (& 20% off!)

Valentine's day gift guide 2020I wanted to choose 10 of my favourite beauty picks for Valentine’s day gifting from Look Fantastic as it’s one of my go-to online beauty shopping destinations PLUS I still have my 20% discount code running until the end of February so you can take advantage of this if you need to buy a gift or treat yo’self to some gorgeous perk-me-up bits this Valentine’s day.

I personally am not a big Valentine’s day investor. Me & Tom *may* get a ‘hilarious’ card for each other and treat ourselves to a takeaway, that’s about it. However there are so many who love to celebrate it with gifting, getting that surprise pretty-wrap gift and making someone’s day that extra bit special. Tom if you are reading this, I am low on my Emma Hardie cleanser.

Fragrances are possibly the most popular choice for Valentine’s day gifting : it’s a little spenny, it’s quite a personal gift and can be a really thoughtful choice. The Tom Ford Black Orchid Eau De Parfum (from £59) is such a classic scent (actually quite a love or hate!) but there’s no doubt about it, it’s very sensual and seductive with it’s rich, dark accords and unique unisex blend. So basically if you like it, buy it for your other half then you can wear it 😉

A candle would always be my go-to gift for ANYTIME of the year because I think most people really appreciate a fancy candle (and a pretty jar you can up-cycle afterwards) and it’s a real ‘treat’ gift. I am a candle fanatic so I have tried allllll of the big names and here’s certainly a few I would opt for for a Valentine’s vibe but one of the best has to be the gorgeous, musky Jo Malone Intense Oud and Bergamot Candle (£55). I love the sleek packaging and they always burn really well. This scent isn’t overpowering but it’s really lovely and warm, ambient and a bit sensual ooo er.

I think Jo Malone is also such a recognisable brand as well that it would always be appreciated and acknowledged as a lovely present.

Skincare-wise there are a few fail-safe options for gifting and that will always start with the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm* (£47). This is a great all-round cleanser treatment that honestly anyone and everyone can get benefits from. It’s the best balm cleanser there is and it leaves your skin fully cleansed, nourished, detoxified and fresh-feeling. So much love for this and it would never be a disappointing present for any skincare junkie!

Another great multi-use and good-for-anyone type product is the cult classic Caudalie Beauty Elixir* (£32). This is a radiance-reviving beauty mist that will hydrate, refreshen and brighten the most dull of skins. It’s been a kit favourite of mine for 10 years now and there is a reason why this has been used by makeup artist’s for decades to both set & prep the skin. Another perfect prep product and something I think is always very gift-worthy is the By Terry Baume De Rose (£40). This is a super-pricey lip balm, hence why I always include it in a gift guide as lots simply wouldn’t indulge this amount into a lip balm.

Heralded by Vogue magazine as the best lip balm in the world, this rose-infused lip treatment will nourish, soothe and give you that perfect hint of petal-pink hue.

A gorgeous treat for the body and a beautiful scent to match : The Elemis Japanese Camellia Body Oil (£38.50). This high-quality aromatic oil will nourish your skin from head to toe and leave it glowing and supple. I used this throughout my pregnancy and rumours have it that it was Victoria Beckham’s go-to also. Another oil treatment but for the hair is the renowned Moroccanoil Treatment* (£32.85). Wow remember the craze for this when it first launched?! This argan oil treatment will re-nourish and smooth the hair and give you that burst of hydration that hair can lack after lots of bleaching, heat styling and the rest. It’s such a classic….and still the best!

Last up from my little stash of beauty picks : THE MAKEUP. Now sometimes it can be a little too personal to pick makeup, particularly colour for someone as a gift however there are always a few fail-safe options including that perfect red lipstick.

There are two ultimate classics for me being the NARS Dragon Girl Velvet Matte lip pencil (£22) which is my all-time favourite which I have worn constantly for about 356 years and then the MAC Ruby Woo (£17.50) which is probably one of the most famous red lipsticks in recent times. Both matte finishes, both absolutely STUNNING reds and honestly you wouldn’t be disappointed with either.

Last up, and I don’t wanna be cliche here but we could’t do a Valentine’s gift guide NARS Orgasm Blusher (£25). This is a cult makeup item and the colour really is that looks good on pretty much everyone! It’s peachy-pink, with a little kick of glow and makes your skin look fresh and flushed.
