What is it about candles that make them so comforting and appealing that I simply MUST have one ‘on the burn’ any time I am at home?! I love my candles, and trying out new scents, formulas and brands. It’s time to burn up your spicy-woody-musky scents that saw you through the darker times and to replace them with the lighter, fresher and brighter smells of Spring-Summer.
Crabtree & Evelyn make fabulous candles : they are hand-poured here in the UK, they are well-scented and they burn really cleanly, and fill the room easily and quickly. City Zen is the perfect scent for this time of the year and it also brings a really relaxing and harmonious vibe to your home. This is a oriental and spicy fragrance that reflects tranquility and peace and I am loving it as a PM unwind after hectic work days in the hustle and bustle of London.
Key notes include Hong Kong ginger flower, warm cardamom, bright lemon and black pepper.
They are a luxury candle and are priced at £42 (200g) and they have a burning time of approx 40 hours which is pretty typical of this size of candle. It comes housed in a simple, unisex box and the jar is frosted glass and has a nice, clean design. LOVE.
Tip for burning candles : Always keep the wick trimmed nice and short to avoid black smokiness and markings on the inside of the jar. This will also stop the glass from becoming too hot and the candles will burn better and ‘cleaner’.
