The Templespa Most Revealing Mask : this is a relatively new launch from Templespa. As a brand, I have dipped in and out of Templespa products, I have used bits of their infamous truffle range and I am a fan of their Repose relaxing night cream.

It’s been a fair old while since I’ve used a ‘bubble’ mask like this one! I think the last one may have been a Dr Brandt one maybe 8 years ago?! This is a glycolic acid-based mask that promises resurfaced, smoother, brighter skin in an instant.

‘This state-of-the-art oxygenating bubble peel powerfully transforms your complexion from lacklustre to positively glowing.’

This mask is powered by vitamin C and a cocktail of glycolic, malic, lactic, citric and hydroxy acids that work hard to resurface and smooth the skin. Sodium hyaluronate hydrates and cushions the skin while it foams and fizzes, lifting away dead skin cells and decongesting debris from the pores. The results = decongested, brighter and smoother skin.

Key Ingredient breakdown :

Vitamin C : An antioxidant that helps revive dull skin. Vitamin C has brightening capabilities, it helps to rejuvenate and revitalise skin. It can brighten age sports and tackle hyper-pigmentation or discolouration. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and anti-ageing ingredient . It stimulates the production of collagen which helps support, firm, tone and strengthen skin. It also works to slow down the signs of ageing by preventing damage from free radicals that cause dryness, wrinkles and fine lines.

Sodium Hyaluronate : Hydrates skin to keep it plump and smooth. Sodium hylaluronate is known for its strong moisturising properties, it helps to attract and retain moisture. Sodium hyaluronate is the salt of hyaluronic acid, it has a smaller molecular size than hyaluronic acid meaning that it can easily penetrate the skin. It is naturally found in the dermis of skin but as we get older its levels decrease which causes skin to age and sag. It softens and smoothes skin as well as keeping it plump and helping to encourage the production of collagen while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It’s non-irritating to skin so is suitable even for sensitive skin.

Glycolic Acid: Exfoliates dead skin cells for a smooth complexion. Glycolic acid is a AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and has the smallest molecules within that group, meaning it can penetrate deep into the skin. It exfoliates to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells and sebum, restoring the pH level of the skin and leaving behind a smoother surface. It encourages skin cell renewal and removes dirt, sweat, oil and sebum that are clogging pores, this helps to treat acne, blackheads, pigmentation and oiliness.

Glycolic acid has been found to increase collagen production and helps to plump and moisturise skin through its water-binding abilities. The result is that skin will appear clarified and smooth which helps to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. By removing the outer layer of dead dull skin cells not only does Glycolic acid help skin to appear brighter and younger looking it also enables other products in your routine to penetrate deeper into the skin.

SUNBURN ALERT: This product contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.

I have used this a couple of times a week lately and it’s a really great mask. The bubbles are kind of addictive. The product applies like a gel and once onto the skin, turns into a white soft foam, which then in turns starts to bubble and pop….and after a few minutes it’s all gone!

After cleansing, whilst skin is still damp, apply a couple of pumps all over the face to create a thin layer, avoiding the immediate eye area. Let the mask work it’s magic and once the fizzing and popping has finished ; remove the excess with a warm cloth. Job done. It’s very quick and easy.

It’s a great brightening and radiance mask. Non-abrasive so no scrubbing involved. I think it’s fine to use once or twice a week and it is definitely effective : My skin feels super smooth after use. Sensitive skins may want to be cautious and see how this feels on the skin ; I’m VERY used to all of the acids and the combination in this so my skin is absolutely fine with a stronger acid mask. It’s also a really great way to exfoliate without using harsh particles which can really damage your skin barrier.

PLEASE REMEMBER to use spf in the day when you are using acid resurfacing treatments in your regime!

I feel like there is SO much more I need to try on the Templespa range so if you have any more recommendations then please send ’em my way! I’m a relatively newbie and there is lots of different ranges.

The Templespa Most Revealing mask is on sale now and costs £40.
