Following on from my post about all-out luxury serums with the price tag to match, I wanted to share with you some of my favourite, more affordable super serums that are all under the £40 mark.
I always re-iterate that you should invest into your skincare as much as you can afford and feel comfortable with, whether it be £5 to £500. I think that the high street / affordable skincare brands have upped their game a hellava lot over the last 5 years of so and we can’t really discuss great and affordable skincare without touching on DECIEM. I know, I KNOW there is a lot of controversy around this umbrella of skincare brands that include NIOD, The Ordinary and Hylamide (in short : the founder is clearly suffering bouts of bad mental health – it’s reflecting negatively on the brands) BUT we cannot deny that DECIEM has changed the skincare industry, ruffled feathers and shown us that you don’t not need to drop £100 to get good-formula skincare. I haven’t included any DECIEM in today’s post for various reasons but I still think the brands are fabulous and are worth looking into for budget skincare…..especially The Ordinary.
PIXI Rose Caviar Essence (£26) This gel-serum is super lightweight, almost watery and it contains encapsulated flower oils that burst onto the skin to deliver fresh botanicals that hydrate & restore. It’s the one if you are new to this serum malarky, don’t want your skincare fussy or heavy and don’t want anything too fancy or anti-ageing. This will soften, nourish and brighten your skin and leave you feeling fresh AF.
Evolve Beauty Hyaluronic Serum 200 (£30) One of my favourite organic skincare brands is Evolve and they do some really great and affordable skincare. This is my second bottle of the Hyaluronic Serum 200 which is a clear gel-like serum that contains 200mg of hyaluronic per bottle which hydrates and plumps the skin in an instant. Pomegranate extract regulates cell turnover and limiting free radical damage.
Pestle and Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum (£36) My third bottle of this glorious multi-tasking serum! Contains hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate the skin, aloe vera juice to soothe, and vitamin E that protects. Absorbs in instantly, no residue and you will feel instant results. Very minimal ingredients in this clean serum so if you want something simple, clean and fuss-free with no fillers or nonsense then do check this out. Literally anyone and everyone can use this.
Antipodes Apostle Skin-Brightening Serum (£39) A lightweight water-based serum that is yo’ one if you have uneven skin tone, acne scarring or dull skin. Contains antipodes’ signature vivanza grape that reduces redness and soothes. Kiwi fruit extract contains exfoliating enzymes to give you that go-to-glow and reishi mushroom boosts cell renewal. Jurlique Rose Moisture Plus Daily Moisture Balancing Serum (£40). This is an antioxidant-rich serum that is deeply nourishing and hydrating without the heaviness. it contains one of my favourite ingredients : Rose Hip Seed Oil which is fabulous for balancing a combination / breakout skin and it’s also rich in essential fatty acids to nourish the skin. I love anything with rosewater and Jurlique are known for their fabulous rosewater products : it’s anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and soothing.
