As we are becoming more aware of what we are consuming and putting on our face and bodies, Veganism has become pretty darn huge over the last few years. I think it’s great to be educated and make informed choices, and brands are becoming more aware and thankfully, there seems to be more and more choice for vegan skincare.
Just last week I went along to look at the Superdrug Vegan pop-up shop in Boxpark, Shoreditch where they are showcasing a range of their vegan beauty offerings. Pssssttt It’s open for another 3 months if you are interested.
Whilst I am not Vegan (have been toying with the idea for a while), I wanted to share with my readers some of my favourite skincare picks, that are not only fabulous and do-what-they-say-on-the-tin, but are also vegan.

Cleansers + Tonics
I think my main focus-point when it comes to skincare…I LOVE my cleansers! First up, the PIXI + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse which is a clever 2-step-1-tub system. Step 1 is solid cleansing oil balm which breaks down all your makeup (inc. waterproof), SPF and grime on the skin, Step 2 is a silky, cleansing cream that removes any last remnants of dirt, oil and leaves the skin feeling comfortable and soft. Another PIXI cleanser, which is more suited to an oily-combination skin is the Glow Mud Cleanser. This is a 5% glycolic and mud formula that deep cleanses, lightly exfoliates and purifies the skin on one sweep. Perfect as your morning cleanse.
Tata Harper is one of my favourite skincare brands of the moment. I have been slowly building my collection as it’s so damn pricey, understandable so when you look into the sourcing of products, packaging and ethics. The Tata Harper Nourishing Oil Cleanser is a lovely, rich oil cleanser that is great for when double cleansing is too much of a faff and you want one product to do everything. Clean oils and ingredients make for glowing, bright skin after use. Another one-step oil cleanser and much more on the budget-friendly side is the Purepotions Omega Rich Cleansing Oil. This is also particularly good for very sensitive and reactive skins as it doesn’t contain any essential oils. Key ingredient organic rosehip oil is packed with essential fatty acids which is great for balancing and soothing the skin.
Who knew that the iconic PIXI Glow Tonic was vegan?! This is a great skin-brightening tonic that can be used every day, on all skin types to even the skin, brighten, smooth the appearance of pore and lightly exfoliate for brighter, clearer-looking skin. Every one needs on in their stash!
Masks + Scrubs
If you like your products to smell incredible and give you that oooo-la-la feeling when you are using them then please pick up the Evolve Radiant Glow Organic Face Mask. It’s utterly heavenly and besides the fact it’s made from Raw Cacao & coconut so it smells good enough to eat, it actually is a great mask for exfoliating, brightening and softening the skin. A great all-rounder mask.
A gentle-but-effective face scrub is the Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator. It combines plant-rich ingredients including avocado oil & jojoba beads which gentle work to slough away dead skin cells whilst nurturing and repairing the skin.
Oils, Serums + Moisturisers
The Votary Jasmine and Calendula face oil is a super luxury, plant-based face oil that is packed with high quality, cold-pressed oils. This particular blend is great for the AM to calm down your skin prior to makeup application. It also contains rosehip oil which is great for blemishes and breakouts, so reach for this is you are a little on the problematic, sensitive and reactive side. A great, and slightly cheaper face oil is the Purepotions Skin Salvation Intensive Face Oil : this contains a lot of the same oils as the Votary one, including hero oil rosehip & calendula and again, is great for any skintypes, including the super sensitive and breakout. If oils aren’t your thing (they should be, they are FAB!…but I get not everyone likes them) then one of the best hydration serums is the Evolve Hyaluronic Serum 200.
Hyaluronic acid serums are so SO good for your skin, particularly if you are dehydrated-dry and they work fantastically on an oily skin too to nourish….without the oil. One of the best ones I have used is the Evolve Hyaluronic Serum 200 which is a pure, colourless gel formula of high potency hyaluronix acid (200mg per bottle). This concentrate will ensure the skin is hydrated, nourished and plump. It also contains organic pomegranate extract to soften and protect the skin + a dose of organic rosewater to give a beautiful, uplifting scent.
Another Antipodes product (can you tell they are one of my favourite skincare brands?!) is the protective Immortal SPF15 Face & Body Moisturiser. This harnesses the power of raspberry seed oil to give a natural sun protection to the skin, and as the name suggests, can be used on both the face and body. It is a 60ml tube so I tend to use this solely on my face and down my neck as opposed to slathering it all over my body (and utilising an entire tube on one application).
Not fitting into any category in particular, as I have focused more on face products rather than body but I simply HAVE to mention one of my most re-purchased and used products since it’s launch and that is the Aurelia Botanical Cream Deodorant. It’s just as fab as India Knight infamously said it is (thanks hun it was VERY hard to get hold of after the launch) and since switching up to ‘natural deodorants’ a few years a go, this is absolutely the best I have tried.
