Jo Loves Fig A Fragrance Body Mist : Review.

I have slowly been introducing myself to the jo Loves range over the last few years and today I want to talk all about the Jo Loves A Fragrance Body Mist in Fig. Body mists are seeing a bit of a come-back at the moment and I’m noticing more and more high-end brands introducing them into their lines. Body mists are perfect for lighter dustings of scents, refreshing perfumes throughout the day or simply if you don’t like heavy and overpowering scents on you : they can be a great and cheaper alternatives to perfumes and eau de toilettes.

Jo Malone says : ‘I have always loved body mists and travel everywhere with them. I love the easy way you can refresh your scent throughout the day, wherever you are.’

About Jo Loves.

Jo Loved was founded by Jo Malone CBE in 2011. Jo Malone has been described as an ‘English scent maverick’ and the woman responsible for creating some of the world’s most loved fragrances.

‘Originally a facial therapist, Jo fell in love with fragrance while working from her discreet skin care clinic which she set up from her London home. Discovering an instinctual talent for creating scented products by hand in her kitchen, word of her exceptional potions quickly spread and soon Jo was unable to keep up with demand. From these artisan beginnings Jo launched her first brand, Jo Malone London, which gained cult status around the world. In 1999, Jo sold the business to Estée Lauder Companies and remained Creative Director until she left in 2006.’

Jo Loves has been around since 2011 so is still a relatively ‘new’ fragrance brand but has become quickly established and they do some beautiful scents that have become much talked about and loved. Jo Loves was created all around memories – “it’s where I am and the person I am now”. Jo Malone.

There are currently 15 fragrances in the Jo Loves line-up. Jo Loves do perfumes, candles and bath and body products. The range is vegan and cruelty free.

Jo Loves A Fragrance Body Mist – Fig – Review.

A blend of Fig, Rose, and Amber. Reminiscent of warm summer afternoons and freshly cut grass.

This light and airy mist has been formulated to delicately scent your body and clothing. It is a fast-drying mist which can be used alone or layered with another Jo Loves Fragrance to create a scent unique to you.

The scent is really gorgeous and I always have been a fan of fig-based scents since I discovered the infamous Diptyque Philosykos over 20 years ago! Fig is fresh, it’s unisex, it’s warm and it’s delicious. This body fragrance also has notes of Rose and amber – literally my dream combo and it makes for a really beautiful and pretty scent. Fig is definitely the dominant note and it has a summery, warm feel to it. I do wear this all year round but in typical terms this would be a more spring-summer scent.

I find that the Jo Loves body mists are strong enough for a daily scent. It’s softer and more translucent that her eau de parfums, of course, but perfect for if you have preference for lighter-smelling scents. I find myself reaching for body mists SO MUCH at the moment as I don’t want to smell overpowering or too heady, especially in the daytime. Some people who like that more dominant scent may want to layer this up throughout the day and have in their handbag for refreshes and top-up’s..it’s totally personal preference!

It’s also a GREAT way to be more economical with these more luxurious fragrances : you can abolsutely use a body mist instead of a typical ‘fragrance/perfume’ and ml for ml they come in a fair bit cheaper. The Jo Loves fragrance body mists are £55 for 100ml and the Jo Loves eau de parrfums are £115 for 100ml. This isn’t to suggest the body mist is ‘better’ or ‘as strong’ as the perfumes : they most definitely are not (!) but a great option for lighter fragrance lovers or an add-on to a perfume.

The Jo Loves A Fragrance Body Mists are both vegan & cruelty free and cost  £55 for this 100ml bottle.

Is Jo Loves a Good Brand?!

I know a lot of people will be wondering if it’s a good fragrance brand , if it’s a ‘good’ as Jo Malone London etc. In my honest opinion – absolutely and better! Especially if you are on the lookout for more niche and interesting scents. I personally don’t *love* Jo Malone London fragrances as I find them quite commonly worn now and I prefer my fragrances a little more niche and unusual. I haven’t tried the bath & body range as yet but I am told it’s beautiful!

Is Jo Loves similar to Jo Malone London?

There *are* similarities , of course…it’s the same person behind the brand! However Jo Loves, for me is a little more interesting. There isn’t really a scent form Jo Loves which you would smell and think ‘ooo that is supposed to be XX from Jo Malone London’. I feel like she would of not wanted this to happen. The packaging I think for both brands is chic and sleek looking…Jo Loves I think is more modern and minimal – but that’s because it has been designed in more recently times. Price wise, Jo Loves and Jo Malone London is VERY similar, I think Jo Malone London is maybe £5 or so more expensive for the different sizes.

So I hope you enjoyed reading my review of the Jo Loves A Fragrance Body Mist Fig helpful! If you like Fig fragrances then you may also want to check out my review of the Diptyque Philosykos Eau De Parfum RIGHT HERE.
