Jill Dempsey Cream Cheek Tints : Radiant Blush for Happy Cheeks

Jillian Dempsey cheek tints petal and poppyI remember seeing the Jillian Dempsey cheek tints a few months ago on Katie Jane Hughes’ Instagram stories and I knew that I would love (& need) these cream cheek colours. I have always been a big fan of cream colour, particularly on the cheeks as I find it gives such a gorgeous, healthy glow.

Jillian Demspey is a makeup artist who has painted some of Hollywood’s most iconic faces. Her makeup line is simple, refined and perfect for those who like a natural and low maintenance look and application. Yesssssir. I have the cheek tints in shades ‘Poppy’ (bright coral) and best-selling muted pink shade ‘Petal’ ; both are colours that I reach for a lot, and Petal is pretty much my every day go-to at the moment. It’s my PERFECT PINK FLUSH and it is strange as it looks so very…..ahem boring….in the pan, but it translates on the skin into a totally different shade. It’s the shade I’m donning in all these photos btw.

Petal gives such a lovely fresh, pop of natural pink on the cheeks and always makes me look so healthy and happy.

Poppy is slightly punchier and more vivid, so I prefer it when I want a little more of a stand-put blush or when I am a little more tanned. It’s such a pretty shade, and you can also really mute it down or up depending on your taste.

The textures of these cheek tints are slightly different I think to a lot of cream blushers. They initially don’t feel as creamy I don’t think, and have an almost thicker and more matte texture but they apply beautifully and easily to the skin and still give that cream blusher glow and melted-into-the skin natural finish. I think if some cream formulas are too greasy or tacky they can look amazing when you first apply them , but they will most certainly disappear after a short time, particularly if you are oilier on the skin like myself. The Jillian Dempsey formulas are velvety, long wearing and a little goes a long way.

You can apply these however you want, obviously as a cream you can simply dab them on with fingertips, or use a foundation brush if you prefer.

I tend to use the same brush as I used with my foundation (THIS is my go-to at the moment if you are nosey!) so it gives a super blurred and natural second skin finish. The formula is made up from natural and organic plant waxes including sunflower seed wax, organic shea butter, organic coconut oil and bamboo stem extract. They are cruelty-free, vegan and are formulated without any synthetic fragrances, dyes and parabens. They cost £26.50 for a 3g size.
