Diptyque Orphéon Eau De Parfum Review.
I have been really enjoying going through my fragrances and doing reviews of some of my favourite scents and brand lately and today I am talking ALL things Diptyque Orphéon : one of the newer and possibly lesser know Diptyque fragrances but one I really love.
Diptyque do some of my favourite scents ever and I have been using their fragrances (and their candles) for around 15 years now – yep before they were insta-famous! Diptyque was established in 1961 and the French perfume house is world renowned for exceptional fragrance, the most beautiful scented candles and body and skincare that stimulates the senses for a luxurious experience. My dream is to go and visit their boutique in Paris one day and treat myself to something gorgeous!
About Diptyque :
We all have heard of Diptyque : possibly mainly for their candles, as they have become SO popular over the last 5 years or so (thanks bloggers on Instagram) but I want to tell you a little more about their background and history so you get a bit more insight into what this luxury Paris-born fragrance house is all about.
Diptyque is a contemporary, emblematic, pioneering Parfumerie Maison that was founded over 60 years ago. It was created to celebrate authentic luxury, and the art of living through the senses, where fragrance and art are integral to everything. It has an ever-growing collection of scented candles, home fragrance, perfume and body care.
The original and flagship Diptyque boutique is at 34 Boulevard St Germain, Paris which you will see written around the labels on the fragrances. This store has also inspired fragrances in it’s own right (34) and it truly is the mothership of all things Diptyque!
I think they are truly stunning, sophisticated and there is a signature scent for everyone. They currently do over 30 fragrances. They come in both eau de toilette (white labels on the bottle) and eau de parfum (black labels). The Eau de Parfum collection are stronger, with a higher concentrate of perfume oils. Diptyque also do many fragrance add on’s such as solid perfume, roll-on’s and hair perfume. I love the oil roll-on’s for the handbag and they really are very strong.
Anyway onto the Diptyque Orphéon Eau de Parfum…
Diptyque Orphéon Eau De Parfum Review.
Orphéon Eau de Parfum by Diptyque is a Woody Chypre fragrance for women and men. Orphéon is a relatively new Diptyque Eau de Parfum which was launched in 2021. The creator behind the fragrance is Olivier Pescheux.
Top note is Juniper Berries, middle note is Jasmine, base notes are Powdery Notes, Cedar and Tonka Bean.
Warm tonka bean, deep cedar, rich jasmine and vivacious juniper berries combine in a fragrance that is fresh, floral, sensual, woody.
Diptyque Orphéon Eau De Parfum comes in one size, 75ml and costs £148. All Diptyque Eau de Parfums (black labels) only some in this 75ml size. These are stronger scents, more concentrated and will last longer than eau de toilettes.
Where can you get a Diptyque Orphéon sample?
So HOW do you get your hands on an elusive Diptyque sample? It can be *very* hit and miss at the stores and boutiques to be quiet honest with you. If you go into the department stores, you can ask and flutter those eyelashes but they more often than not have the more ‘popular’ scents as samples…or none at all! It is worth trying if you are visiting these places though.
You can also always purchase the Diptyque Orphéon fragrance from the Diptyque website where you will get a small sample of the scent alongside your purchase – this allows for people to try before they fully commit and open to packaging etc. If it’s not for you, as long as the actual fragrance is still fully in tact/wrapped and resealable, you can send it back for a full refund or exchange. That is off course, a more faffy way to do it but could be a viable option for those of us who are NOWHERE near a shop that sells Diptyque!
So I hope you found my Diptyque Orphéon Eau de Parfum review helpful and it has answered all the questions you may have had. It’s definitely an interesting scent and a lovely unisex and ‘pretty’ scent. It is available from all the typical Diptyque retailers such as Space NK, Selfridges, and of course online at DiptyqueParis.com and it is priced at £148 for 75ml.
