December Birchbox 2016 | Best of the Year?

EEEEEEEk it’s December, Christmas has sprung upon me from nowhere and I am feeling like time is slipping away for socialising, balancing work and trying to get all the shopping done (started). The last Birchbox of the year arrived on my doorstep last week and it’s a good’ un people , I would go as to say possibly my favourite of the whole year, so THANKYOU to Birchbox for ending my beauty box year with a bang.

What’s inside and why am I so happy with it?!

The packaging for this month is no longer the drawer style (which I kinda liked) but a pull-apart, slightly sturdier box, which I think I will also find some use for beauty storage for it. All the beauty treats inside are clearly for the party season ; handbag essentials and products to keep you moving when your body and mind may be saying ‘no’!

First up, there is a full-size Ciate liquid eyeliner in every box (worth £15!) so this alone is your money’s worth and more for the £12.95 monthly fee. YAY. The eyeliner itself is really lovely, jet black and inky and easy to create the seasonal favourite feline flick.

For keeping those locks in order, there is a Percy & Reed Wonderbalm (travel-size 30ml) which is a universal styling product that you apply into wet hair before you air dry or style and it reduces frizz, flyaway and helps your chosen style stay longer. I’ve actually got this and used it before, so I know it’s good plus the travel-size is handy for holidays and weekends away.

I was really excited to see a small tube (7.5ml) of the Dr Brandt PoreDermabrasion exfoliator.. although it is relatively small, it will give me a good 3-5 uses to see if I like it as it is something I was eyeing up in Sephora last month when I was in Boston. I really love the original Microdermabrasion from this brand and I have open pores/oily skin so it sounds like this chemical and physical skin exfoliator may be the one for me!

There is a Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara which is something I have never tried so I am looking forward to trying it out. I don’t think I have actually EVER tried any BB mascaras coming to think about it, so let’s see if it’s any good on my spindly lashes. It promises to be a long-wearing, flake / smudge-proof formula.

Last up is the Benefit POREfessional Matte Rescue Invisible Finish Mattifying Gel (7.5ml) which is another product I am yet to try. I have heard mixed reviews about this so will report back if it’s particulary effective. Either way, a good little handbag size to take on a night out or an overnight stay.

So all-in-all…..yep, my favourite box of the year! I have remarked before that I have received a few repeat products in my Birchboxes but this one is all products I have never had in my box before and actually ALL products I have never tried (& want to!) besides the P&R Wonderbalm. A big yes from me ! Every month it’s a random selection of products so some may get different products than others.

Did you get this month’s Birchbox and what items did you get?
