It just takes a few minutes of scrolling your Instagram feed to know that this Holographic makeup trend is here to stay for a little longer.
Creeping into mainstream makeup last year, was a whole lotta holographic makeup….with super-strength-can-be-seen-from-and-IN-space ethereal highlighters, two-three tone lip finishes and unicorn inspired beauty all over the shop. This trend isn’t just incorporating our usual-mainstream makeup tones either, we are seeing blues and greens on the cheeks and lips and more ‘out-there’ shades that are easy to pick up on the high street.
Barry M have incorporated this hot trend with their Holographic Lip & Eye Toppers. These are fun, easy and playful products and because of the affordable price point ; perfect for those wanting to dip their twinkly toes into this space-like trend.
LIP TOPPERS (£4.99)
The holographic lip toppers come in 4 0ut-of-this-world shades that all have a multi-faceted 3D rainbow finish. These have a wonderful, non-sticky gloss formula and are pretty worn solo for a subtle pop of iridescence or over the top of a matching lip colour for maximum holographic impact. I’m actually really loving ‘spellbound’ which is the most neutral of the shades but it goes over any lip shade and is also really nice just on it’s own for a more interesting nude glossy lip.
Makeup Artist Tip : these are perfect for that glossy eyelid look for the ‘gram or for photoshoots. They won’t stay put but they will look pretty!
EYE TOPPERS (£4.99)
Fancy up up your eye lewks with these iridescent washes of electric colour. They come in 4 shades which all have rainbow effect, light-reflecting particles for a high impact finish. They are a cream formula, so can be worn solo for a more natural effect (simply wash lightly across the lids with fingertips and build to your taste) OR apply these over the top of a matching eyeshadow for a full-on lustrous finish. They are really easy to blend and the formula is quick-drying and long-wearing. Playful, fun and easy makeup.
I would love to see more shades in both the lip & eye toppers for Spring / Summer with some more coral, oranges, golds and reds. Come thru Bazza.
Have you embraced the holographic makeup trend yet? Admittedly it has taken me a while to wear it on myself and I’m still not *mad* on unicorn multi-tone highlighters OR green/blue as a highlighter on me personally, but I love seeing makeup becoming more playful and people becoming more experimental with their looks.
