Bobbi Brown is fast-becoming one of my favourite luxury makeup brands and it’s slowly starting to fill up my professional kit as well as my dressing table. I think Bobbi Brown is seen as very-much your timeless and effortless makeup : it’s all about beautiful skin and making you look like you, but a little bit more confident.
I think as I have got a little older, I have appreciated this a lot more, gone are the days of neon eyeshades (well….almost gone), carved up contour and black eyeliner for me….I’m appreciating my natural self, paring the makeup back on a day-to-day basis and enhancing what features I have, rather than trying to cover them up. Bobbi Brown emulates my day-to-day look perfectly and I wanted to share with you my go-to, can’t-live-without makeup products from them.
First up : SKIN PREP : The Vitamin-enriched Face Base is a perfect hybrid moisturiser-and-primer-in-one. It has a creamy, rich feel but gives a lovely comfortable base on your skin and allows all bases to glide on seamlessly. Psssssst the luxe texture may fool ya but it’s actually OIL-FREE. Hooray. Foundation-wise it’s currenttly ALL about the Skin Long-wear Weightless Foundation. This is a 16hr-wear full coverage liquid foundation with a wonderfully light and second-skin finish. Perfect for summer when you need that coverage but you don’t want the feel of makeup on your skin. I have a full review here if you fancy. Under the eyes? Look no further than the Instant Full Cover Concealer ; A cream formula concealer which packs a punch in terms of pigment and coverage. Great for ‘erasing’ those dark circles and perking up tired eyes in a flash. Absolutely works on pesky blemishes and areas of redness.
It’s all about the EYES. If you don’t fancy blending 3 colours across your lids every AM but do fancy looking a little but ‘done’ then pick up a Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick (they do 18 shades) which are the perfect quick-fix-do-it-all-eyeshadows for people who have 5-minutes not 15 to do a full face of makeup. No brushes needed, just sweep the cream colour across the lids and tap and blend with your fingertip. Mesmerising eyes call for a slick of mascara so grab your lash curlers out and finish with the infamous Smokey Eye Mascara. This is a deep, kajal-pigmented mascara that gives instant high drama, length and volume. It doesn’t flake, smudge or budge so perfect to add into your Spring-Summer makeup bag.
Finishing Pops of colour. Possibly my most-used blusher for the last couple of months is the Pot Rouge For Lips And Cheeks. These are one of Bobbi Brown’s bestsellers and understandable, as they are super easy to apply, wear and they are just easy, no-fuss cream colour. I’m still all about the limited edition ‘Pretty Powerful‘ shade which is a universal fresh pink. These can be used both on the cheeks and lips but I’m reaching for a slightly balmier texture of colour at the moment for my lips and the Crushed Lip Color Lipsticks are perfect for that hybrid lipstick-balm feel. No dryness, no claggy lips and they are perfectly nourishing and comfortable. Did you see I have done FULL SWATCHES of the entire collection?! > check them out here. I’m currently all about shades Sunset & Watermelon.
