So yesterday I gave you this post and teaser pics on my half face of budget makeup and half a face of ridiculously expensive high end makeup. I used like-for-like products and 12 products on each side to make it fair, although one side totalled just under £70 and the other £518!! < If you haven’t seen it, go back and have a look and see if you can guess.
Can you tell which side is which? Well here is the reveal:
The RIGHT = High end products
The LEFT = Budget products
I tried to pick like-for-like/ similar products ; and the same amount to make it fair. All the pricing is from standard websites such as Boots rather than discount websites so the pricing on everything is accurate as possible although you may be able to get (mainly the budget stuff) for a little bit cheaper in some places.
(1) Bourjois Happy Light Primer £8 (2) Revlon Colorstay Foundation Combination-Oily £12.99 (3) Collection Lasting Perfection concealer £4.19 (4) Wet n’ Wild contouring palette ‘Dulche de Leche’ £3 (5) MUA Blusher ‘Bubblegum’ £1 (6) NYX Liquid Illuminator ‘Sunbeam’ £8 (7) Makeup Revolution I love Obsession Eyeshadow palette £3.99 (8) NYX Micro Brow Pencil £8 (9) Maybelline master drama eyeliner £4.49 (10) Collection liquid eyeliner £2.99 (11) Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara £7.99 (12) Barry M Loud Mouth Lip Paint £4 TOTAL = £68.64
HIGH END MAKEUP:
(1) By Terry CC Lumi Serum Primer £62 (2) By Terry Eclat Opulent £105 (3) By Terry Densillis concealer £44 (4) Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate £58 (5) Cover FX Custom Drops illuminator ‘Celestial’ £34 (6) Hourglass Ambient lighting blusher ‘Incandescent Electra’ £32 (7) Tom Ford Eye Colour Quad £66 (8) Benefit Precisely My Brow pencil £20 (9) Giorgio Armani eyeliner pencil £20 (10) DHC liquid eyeliner £16 (11) Chantecaille Faux Cils mascara £36 (12) Hourglass Opaque Rouge ‘Icon’ £25 TOTAL = £518
The majority of people who commented on the previous post and those that tweeted me etc seemed to guess correctly – I would say around 75%. I think it’s more-so down to the finish of the foundation and I really noticed that the Cover FX illuminator (highlight) made a huge *glowy* difference on my skin.
I think there is a slight difference for sure ; but not a near £450 one. I still LOVE and will always buy a mixture of both high end/luxury and budget makeup as I love switching it up , finding bargains and we can’t always afford a £32 highlighter.
