This is a continuation of my mini series of finding a range of dupes of lip colours based around budget : ONE SHADE & FORMULA – 4 BUDGETS. If you didn’t catch the first post it was all about the REDS, you can check that out here. This post is all about the ORANGE tones.
The liquid lipstick trend is not going ANYWHERE in 2017 with more makeup brands bringing out their own versions, promising all to be better than the rest. Not all brands have hit the nail-on-the-head in terms of formula, and you have to shop around a bit to get one that won’t dry out your lips, peel or make your lips look patchy. I have tried and tested quite literally hundreds of formulas so I want to share with you my favourites over 4 varying budgets and these bad boys range from £3- £25.
MY FAVOURITE ORANGE LIQUID LIPSTICKS.
MUA Luxe Liquid lipstick in shade ‘Atomic’ What a steal at just £3 and as you can see from the swatches , it’s super bright and pigmented. Probably a touch more drying than the others but that’s the price to pay for a cheaper formula and it still stays on well, looks great and is such a vivid orange-red.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream ‘San Juan’. The slightly less scary sister of the full-on liquid lip suedes from NYX, the lip creams are some of my favourites lip colours. Slightly (I mean a teeny weeny bit) less pigmented than the rest so a go-to for when you want the matte-but-not-SUPER-matte lip stain. I think another huge positive of the lip creams (beside only costing £5.50) is that there is a whopping 34 + shades to choose from.
Ciate Liquid Velvet ‘Diva’. I think this is my favourite of the bunch. It has such a rich, plush formula that applies with ease and wears super comfortable. EEK I’ve also just noticed that these, including this shade, are on sale for 50% off (now £8.50) over on the Feel Unique website hooRAH. Definitely the brightest and most heavily pigmented out of all of these liquid lipsticks.
Hourglass ‘Riviera’. Still one of my ultimate brands when it comes to liquid lipsticks : their Opaque Rouge formulas have been around since before matte lip colours/liquid lipsticks were even a *thing*. These are rather pricey coming in at £25 but the quality reflects the price and worth the splurge in my opinion. Riviera is the ultimate bright orange-red.
What are your favourite liquid lipstick formulas? Are you more of a high street or high end fan?
