Last week I was invited along to have a look through the new Revlon Spring/Summer Makeup collection, including their brand new makeup brushes that have just launched into the shops. There is so many lovely things coming out , including new shades of the best-selling Ultra HD Matte Lip Colors, an updated foundation, lip laquers, polishes and more of our favourite things…
I have been wanting to try the Ultra HD Matte Lip colours for ages as I have heard so many good thing sabout them and the formula…..and they do not dissappoint ; longevity and opaque pigment without the cracked dry lips we all know and hate! My two favourite shades are Flirtation (coral) & Passion (Blue Red) which are the ones below. They are a fantastic dupe for the Hourglass Opaque Rouge lip colours and come in at just £8.99.
There are two new shades of the Colorstay lipliners ; inspired very much by the Kylie Jenner lip fashion at the moment, so browney-nude tones ; nice and wearable and can be used solo for a matte no lip-lip. There is one new shade of the Highlighting palette, ‘Peach Glow’ which is a multi-use sheeny palette which has 5 complimentary bars of pressed colour that can be used over the face, particulary the cheeks and also lovely on the eyes as a wash of colour. Very similar to the infamous Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks we all know and love, for the fraction of the price.
Revlon have also re-packaged the best-selling Colorstay foundation so it now has a pump HOO-RAH rather than the dreaded pour bottles that they have tainted us with for some years. It makes application so much easier, quicker, cleaner and enjoyable. This foundation is wonderful, I am using the formula for Combination/Oily skin (they also do one for Normal-Dry) and it gives great coverage and a really lovely semi-glowing finish. Not far off a NARS sheer glow dupe ; I will be doing a full review ASAP. Big Fan. #CanYouTellImExcited.
Another completely new product they are launching (I think this comes out next month ; May) is the Revlon 2-in-1 compact which is a very clever concept. Your pan-style foundation (NOT a heavy formula!…it’s a sheer medium coverage) that comes housed next to a matching concealer that is perfect for your handbag for touch ups. I love having multi-use & compact products that save me room and this is exactly that. This product will be a godsend in the summer ; festivals / day parties / holidays & weekends away.
There are some new shades in the Ultra HD lip laquers which really remind me of the NARS longwear lipglosses ; they have a really high pigment content and a semi-thick formula for a gloss so stay on like a laquer. I absolutely LOVE the Pink Ruby shade (swatched below), you can see how bold the colours are.
Last but not least is the brand new Revlon Makeup Brushes ; these will be a really big hit I think as they look pretty good with their pointed, ergodynamic handles and the most expensive one rings in at just under £10. There are 8 brushes in total, a couple of dual-ended and multi-use ones and I think the Contouring Brush will be the winner ; I really love this, it is tapered and just the right size to give an easy and non-clumpy contour that you can get with those smaller brushes. Fluffy all the way! These are currently just @ Superdrug.
Have you tried anything from Revlon lately? What are your favourite products? YouMUST try the Ultra HD Matte Lip Colors if you haven’t already.
