For days where we don’t want to wear makeup, but want to look semi-alive, then the answer is a base that is natural, lightweight, infused with skincare and leaves your skin with a glow. Say hello the the Dermalogica Skin Tint SPF20 ; Perfect for no makeup-days, school runs, post and pre-gym and just if you are lucky enough not to need a lot of coverage on a daily basis. I will wear this when my skin is having a good week, just with a dot of strategic concealer here and there and a touch of cream blush.
This has recently been re-formulated and improved. Skin-nourishing hyaluronic acid, walnut seed extracts, pearl amino acids, olive fruit extracts, vitamin B5 & antioxidants all add skincare benefits into this tinted-moisturiser-esque product, and SPF20 gives your skin that all-important daily protection. A good dollop of makeup infused with skincare and this will improve your skin health as you wear it. There are quite a few of these products around at the moment, with the BB/CC/EE craze that started a couple of years ago, most brands have upped their base/foundation/tinted moisturiser game which is a great thing. I also love it when a predominantly skincare brand do this as you know that the quality of skincare ingredients will usually be better than if a ‘makeup’ brand does the same.
The Dermalogica Skin Tint comes in 3 shades at the moment ; light, medium and dark. I am currently wearing the ‘medium’ tone, but the pigment it so sheer that it will probably work for me when my skin is a few shades lighter or darker. It really is a sheer wash of colour and coverage so don’t expect it to erase blemishes and pigmentation , it will just lightly even the skintone and give nice radiant finish on the skin. It is an oil-free formula so doesn’t slide off your face in seconds and is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive.
The Skin Tints are available online and in-store/salons priced at £34.80 for a 40ml tube. This is quite pricey but kind of a standard price for a high-end/good quality foundation or base.
