The Summer Fragrance Edit.

I have such a huge selection of fragrances ; a self-indulgent library that I dip in and out of depending on my mood, the occasion and the season. In autumn/ winter I wear more musky and richer smelling, amber-oud-musk based scents and in the summer I like something more fresh and light, however I’m not a fan of the sweet-smelling generic fragrances that are usually around, I try and go for slightly different fragrances. Liberty’s and Space NK tend to be my best friend when shopping for lovely smells.

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. Mediterranean Chic! This is one of my favourite summer (and all-year) scents ; Inspired by the luxury Italian riviera
resort town of Portofino, recognised for its opulent old-world glamour,
dramatic landscape and tradition. Key notes include Tunisian neroli, Italian bergamot, Sicilian
lemon, winter yellow mandarin, lavender, orange flower, rosemary and
amber.
This isn’t just a stunning, mouth-watering fragrance but this bottle just oozes glamour and decadence…which is darn well should for £145 a bottle.

Serge Lutens Fleur D’Orange. Orange blossom is one of my favourite notes and it’s in a huge bunch of my fragrances. Serge Lutens does some absolute gorgeous fragrances and I love the simple and chic packaging. I have maybe 4 of his fragrances and this is the one I love the most. I like the way he focuses on one singular note and builds around this as opposed to a scattering of different ones.

L’Artisan Le Chasse aux Papillons. ‘The chase of the butterflies’. Imagine a summer garden, brimming with white flowers ; jasmine, orange blossom, tuberose and lime blossom. This is a very fresh floral as opposed to sweet and it has that lovely light freshness to it. Makes the summer days last a little longer!

Joan Collins I Am Woman. This is one that I really didn’t think I would be that into….but because of the size I have been using it as my handbag perfume and I’ve had so many compliments on it! It’s a lot *headier* and perhaps a bit more of a sophisticated/mature than the others here. Floral base notes mixed with musk and a really good staying power on the skin. Notes include bergamot, orange, rose, orange blossom, musk , vanilla & amber.

Diptyque Doson. The one I have worn for the longest, maybe 5 years now. This is just Ibiza beaches, relaxed al fresco candlelight dinners and balmy weather. Tuberose, Orange leaves and musk and one that also gets a lot of compliments when I wear it. This is probably the sweetest fragrance I own but it is balanced out perfectly by the musk.

What have you been wearing lately?
