I had seen quite a bit of Delilah hype across social media over the last few months and have been really intrigued to see what all the fuss is about. It’s a brand that is british-born and relatively new (last year I think it launched?) and it is targeted for all women of all ages. The packaging is pretty & luxurious-looking and it reminds me a little bit of Charlotte Tilbury by ways of look and choice of colour; It’s not overwhelming, yet has all the must-haves, basics & staple shades.
This makeup brand has just gone online at Space NK, and I’m hoping/thinking it will go into stores so it’ll be easier for people to test and try the brand as opposed to just buy online. I always find this impossible when choosing colours! My favourite product thus far that I have tried (I have a huge wishlist for more) is the fabulous Future Resist Foundation*. It’s GORGEOUS in every way!
This foundation has a really fancy, luxurious texture ; it’s one of those that you instantly KNOW is of great quality and you can feel the skincare and goodness in it as opposed to just a slap-dash of pigment. It has a very light velvety feel on the skin and once blended in, it will give you a light-medium coverage. It leaves a subtle hint of luminosity on the skin so gives you life, lift and youthful-looking skin. It contains Vitamins A & E which protect from environmental damage and a bunch of anti-ageing peptides aka this is skincare infused with makeup pigments. Also has a broad spectrum SPF20. Paraben Free and Dermatologically Tested.
There are 8 shades to choose from and I am wearing ‘Pebble’ right now which is a medium beige. I think they have hit the nail on the head with their colour selection, as they have included darker shades which most new brands tend to avoid doing until they are doing ‘well’. I think this is a great move by not launching 8 shades of beige. The very palest tone does appear to be very porcelain too which, again is very good if this is the case as so many pale-skinned girls struggle to find a match. I think because this foundation is pretty lightweight in texture and finish, that you can work with the colour to suit your skin as opposed to needing a precise match.
As with most foundations, this applies really well with a brush (can use fingers of course), and I am also lovin’ the Delilah foundation kabuki brush which is just perfect for buffing and blending this, and other foundations into the skin. It is synthetic, and also has a short-ish handle so is easy to control and buff. I am totally over the old style of paddle foundation brushes, these round ‘buffing’ brushes that are coming out everywhere at the moment are the way forward! They just make the product work more effectively, and it saves so much more time.
I love the tube and pump packaging, it’s really quick, easy and mess-free to apply. The Rose Gold and brown colour is super pretty and pretty-looking packaging like this only ticks more boxes. I thought it appeared a little smaller than most foundations but it’s actually 38ml of product, most (NARS, MAC, YSL etc are 30ml) and it costs £34. BIG FAN of this foundation and Delilah is my favourite makeup brand discovery this year. I can’t wait to try more of the colour items from them.
Have you heard about Delilah cosmetics or tried it? Any recommendations of what to try next?
